Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 5, 2026
This Policy explains what data the SplitDaddy Telegram bot (@splitdaddy_bot) processes and how we protect it. By using the bot you agree to this Policy.
1. What data we collect
We deliberately collect the minimum needed to split expenses:
- Telegram ID — the numeric identifier of the user and the chat;
- Name and @username — to show who paid for what;
- Expense data — amounts, descriptions (e.g. "taxi") and who the beneficiaries are.
We do not collect: card numbers or bank details, phone numbers, your chat history, photos, location, or any message content other than the expense commands themselves.
2. Why we use it
Solely so the bot can do its job: calculate balances and show who owes whom. We do not use data for advertising, profiling, or selling to third parties.
3. Storage and security
Data is stored in a SQLite database on a private server (Hetzner, EU). Server access is restricted and protected with SSH keys. We do not share the database with third parties.
Because the bot runs inside Telegram, message delivery is also subject to Telegram's Privacy Policy.
4. How long we keep data
Party data is kept while the session exists and is needed for the settlement history. You can request deletion of your data at any time (see section 6).
5. Sharing with third parties
We do not sell or share your data. The only processors involved are Telegram (as the messaging platform) and the server hosting provider.
6. Your rights
You can request access to or deletion of your data. To do so, contact the bot's operator via @splitdaddy_bot. Deleting a party or leaving the chat also stops further data collection in that session.
7. Cookies and analytics
This website is static and does not use advertising cookies or cross-site trackers. The bot itself uses no cookies.
8. Children
The bot is intended for users aged 16 and above. We do not knowingly collect children's data.
9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy. The current version is always available at this address with the last-updated date shown at the top.
